Sangamon County Board Chairman Andy Van Meter named Justin Davsko to fill the vacant District 26 County Board position. Davsko’s appointment was approved unanimously at the August 13th County Board meeting.
Davsko has lived in Sangamon County for over twenty years and graduated from Lincoln Land Community College. "Serving my community is a privilege and a passion, Davsko said. “Having observed the value of good public service from an early age, I’ve always believed in the importance of giving back to the community. I look forward to bringing my experience to this role and to continuing to make progress together. I want to thank Chairman Van Meter and the Sangamon County Board for their confidence and for giving me this opportunity to serve."
County Board District 26 includes portions of Chatham and the Piper Glen area. Davsko will serve the remaining partial term left vacant by the passing of John O’Neill. The partial term ends in December 2024, and a special election for the remaining 2 years of the term will be held on November 5, 2024.
Davsko resides in Chatham with his wife and two kids. Davsko will remain the Supervisor of Chatham Township.
