What Is That Bump?

Genital Warts? Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) causes genital warts. It is spread by skin on skin contact with an infected person. Some of these warts can go on to cause cervical or penile cancer.
You can have those warts treated at the Sangamon County Department of Public Health (SCDPH). We use an 80% Trichloracetic Acid treatment to kill the virus, or provide a cream that you can apply to help them disappear. Cost is $15.00 per acid treatment. You can be treated once a week until they are gone.
If you are concerned about genital warts, please ask our intake counselor for more information. You can also look at the information about HPV on our website provided by the CDC.
