The Sangamon County Department of Public Health is seeking applicants to perform nursing duties primarily as an RN/Case Manager for the Infectious Disease Department

Responsibilities
  • Assist with immunization clinics including annual flu vaccination clinics at SCDPH. Make home visits to clients with reportable communicable diseases
  • Attend seminars, workshops, and educational trainings related to infectious disease for professional growth and grant requirements
  • Complete and report epidemiological investigations on reportable communicable diseases as required by Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Control of Communicable Disease Code
  • Interact with community stakeholders to provide guidelines and current recommendations about disease prevention. This includes health care providers, child care providers, school systems, private businesses, and the general public
  • Investigate suspected and confirmed foodborne illness cases throughout Sangamon County. Requires consultation with the environmental health department staff regarding ill food service workers
  • Monitor Class II and Class III TB clients for medication and medical follow-up compliance

Requirements
  • A valid Class D Illinois Driver’s License
  • Applicants must be a resident of Sangamon County or be willing to move into the County within 6 months of employment
  • Ability to use personal automobile with proof of current insurance
  • Current State of Illinois Nursing License
  • On rare occasions or in the event of a public health emergency, may be required to work evening and/or weekend clinic as assigned

Skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Suite programs
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with employees and other stakeholders
Benefits

Salary: $58,839.92/yr, $30.17/hr- 2 weeks paid vacation, 3 paid personal days, 12 paid sick leave days and 13 paid holidays per year. Individual and Family health, dental and life insurance options, retirement and mileage reimbursement. Work Hours: 8a-430p Monday through Friday
