Mary Beth Rodgers Named Sangamon County First Assistant State’s Attorney

Sangamon County State’s Attorney John Milhiser announced Mary Beth Rodgers as First Assistant State’s Attorney. In making the selection, Milhiser stated that the citizens of Sangamon County are fortunate to have a prosecutor of the high caliber of Mary Beth Rodgers in the office and he is excited to make the announcement that she is being promoted to first assistant.

Milhiser said, “I hired Ms. Rodgers as a new lawyer and I have watched her progress in the office. She understands the importance of good prosecutors in keeping the community safe and in supporting victims.”

Ms. Rodgers has served as an assistant state’s attorney in Sangamon County since graduating from Indiana University Maurer School of Law in 2014. Ms. Rodgers earned a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Illinois University and worked for the Illinois Legislative Research Unit prior to attending law school.

Says Milhiser, “Ms. Rodgers is an experienced prosecutor and an asset to the office. She will excel in her new role.”

On receiving the news, Ms. Rodgers commented, “I am grateful to John Milhiser and Sangamon County for this opportunity. I am blessed to work with such a dedicated team of attorneys and staff in the office and look forward to this new position.”

Mary Beth Rodgers resides in Springfield with her husband and daughter.
