The Sangamon County Court Services Department is accepting applications for a Deputy Director – Detention Services position.

Under general direction, acts as the Superintendent by overseeing the entire operation of the Sangamon County Court Services Department Juvenile Detention Center. Responsibilities include the following tasks: administrative, personnel, program services, research and statistical, professional organization, and other related tasks as required by the Director.

A master's degree in management, public administration, criminal justice, or social services and three years of employment in probation/court services, one of which must be in juvenile detention/residential services, with at least two years of supervisory experience in these professions; or a bachelor's degree and five years of employment in probation/court services, one of which must be in juvenile detention/residential services, with at least three years of supervisory experience in these professions.

Possess strong written, verbal, and inter-personal skills, Fundamental capacity for and an interest in the welfare of human beings, demonstrated ability to lead and work with others, demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and direct.

Annual base salary $76,134.00 – $114,201.00; health, dental, and life insurance; pension plan; deferred compensation option; paid vacation, sick, and personal time.
