Capital Township provides the following General Assistance programs to qualified residents of the township. 


Rent and Utility Assistance:

Assistance is available for qualified residents to prevent eviction or disconnection of utilities.  Assistance is paid directly to the vendor.

Workfare:  

This program provides temporary employment for jobless adults with no other income.  Adults 18-61 years of age will work 70 hours per month and are paid the current minimum wage.  The nine month program will provide participants the opportunity to gain valuable experience and tangible skills while earning a paycheck.

Transitional Assistance:

Assistance is available for individuals who are "not employable” due to a serious injury or serious medical condition.  Individuals who qualify can receive $350 per month in financial assistance.  Application requirements: physician statement, pharmaceutical list and proof of pending Social Security application.
