The Department of Community Resources is looking to hire a CSBG Coordinator. 

Responsibilities

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Under the supervision of the Executive Director, performs duties coordinating daily activities under the Community Services Block Grant Program. And is responsible for creating and developing new and innovative service delivery methods under the C.S.B.G. Sub-Grant. Establishes and maintains an extensive referral and information network within the Service Delivery Area. Maintains program standards for the Sub-Grant. Supervises clerical staff. Performs EO/ADA Officer duties.

DUTIES:

  1. Coordinates activities of the Community Services Block Grant for Sangamon County, monitoring those operations to assure compliance with standards and requirements of the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.
  2. Devises and develops new and innovative programs within the guidelines of the Sub-Grant to enhance the delivery of services to clients.
  3. Works with the administrative and fiscal staff on the preparation of budget and grant documents for C.S.B.G. funds, and on its integration into the Department budget.
  4. Establishes and maintains appropriate contacts with agencies and organizations within the community and service area to develop a network of referrals to meet client needs.
  5. Maintains client files and clerical work associated with the program. Assures the maintenance of client records and support documents in strict confidence and security.
  6. Develops and maintains a resource file of other social service agencies and programs with which the Department may work to assure client needs are being met.
  7. Attends required training on C.S.B.G. programs, and sees that necessary information is disseminated to other staff in a timely manner.
  8. Conducts the client intake/interview process as needed.
  9. Performs other duties as may be assigned or required.
  10. Performs EO/ADA Officers duties

Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. B.S. /B.A. degree in Public Administration, Business, Social Services, Management or other related discipline. Relevant work experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis in lieu of formal education.
  2. Two year experience in public contact environment, preferably in a social service setting, either publicly or privately funded.
  3. Ability to interpret state and federal legislation, policies and procedures.
  4. Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  5. Knowledge of accepted accounting procedures, office practices and data management system.
  6. Current State of Illinois Drivers license.

Benefits

Benefits:  Work Hours:  Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm.  Salary Range:  $40,657-$50,821; 2 weeks paid vacation, 3 personal days, 12 paid sick leave days and 12 paid holidays per year.  Individual Family health, dental, life insurance options and retirement are available.
