Sangamon County is seeking interested and qualified applicants for the position of Manager of Finance and Grant Accounting. This is a part time position. Responsibilities

Job Summary: This position will report to the Executive Director. The Manager of Finance and Grant Accounting is responsible for monitoring, analyzing and maintaining financial transactions and accounting for service programs funded by Federal, state and local grants and allocations to support the Sangamon County Child Advocacy Center and CASA of Sangamon County's mission and programs.  This individual will also be responsible overseeing budgeting, financial forecasting and cash flow for the organization. This individual must maintain relationships with private and public grant funders, and provide all required reports, updates, and renewal applications. Required coordination with the Sangamon County Auditor’s Office staff and CAC/CASA client service/program staff to develop proposal concepts, prepare project budgets, define project objectives, write and submit grant proposals, and report outcomes. 

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Finance, or related field.
  • Experience managing contract and grant award set up, post award monitoring, compliance, reporting, invoicing and closeout.
  • Candidate will need to be highly organized and a self-starter.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with a variety of people as well as independently with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of systems advocacy and how to effectively work with nonprofit, government and for-profit institutions.
  • Knowledge of basic bookkeeping and accounting.

Skills

Skills:

  • Ability to manage contract and grant award set up.
  • Experience building budgets.
  • Proficiency in working with Microsoft Office suite applications including Word, and an advanced knowledge of Excel or comparable spreadsheet applications.
  • Strategic thinker, attentive to deadlines and detail, highly organized, creative and comfortable working with all level of funders.
  • Budget projections and analysis of expenses.
Benefits

Salary: This is a part time position, working approximately  20 hours per week. The hourly rate for this position is $35.00.
