The Community Resources Department is looking for an Assistant Liheap Coordinator. 

Responsibilities
  1. Creates Outreach schedule for LIHEAP
  2. Responsible for handling client problems and issues in person or by phone.
  3. Ensures all applications are completed correctly and processed within the time frame
  4. Makes informed suggestions to better implement programs.
  5. Verifies LIHEAP files.
  6. Responsible for putting LIHEAP applications onto registers for payment.
  7.  Informs applicants of eligibility requirements, hearing rights, assists in the completion of the LIHEAP application and secures and necessary documentation.
  8. Informs applicants of needed documentation (where it is lacking) and of time frames for submitting such documentation.
  9. Provides assistance to applicants with communication barriers.
  10. Refers applicants to conservation and weatherization or other social service programs.
  11. Insures good public relations when working with LIHEAP applicants.
  12. Maintains awareness of outreach locations and is present at outreach sites on scheduled days at appropriate time.
  13. Contacts utility company for amounts owed on bill.
  14. Maintains an up-to-date knowledge of program rules and regulations and of federal and state laws and policies and their impact on various programs.
  15. Implements all assigned duties per instructions and review of program guidelines and qualifications.
  16. Other assignments or projects pertaining to/or working in conjunction with LIHEAP.
  17. Administers PIPP program for Ameren customers.

Requirements
  1. Good communication skills
  2. Ability to comprehend and implement written instructions/guidelines 
  3. Accurate working knowledge of mathematics (i.e. Able to compute 30/90 day gross income.)
  4. Accurate working knowledge of web based computer programs                   
  1. Training/ability to interact and direct employees
  1. Proven ability to work with little/no supervision from the Coordinator or Executive Director

Benefits

Benefits:  Work Hours:  Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm.  Salary: $40,657 - $50,821;
2 weeks paid vacation, 3 personal days, 10 paid sick leave days and 13 paid holidays per year.  Individual Family health, dental, and life insurance options, and retirement.
