The Sangamon County Department of Public Health (SCDPH) is seeking applicants to perform duties primarily as a Clinic Nurse Practitioner.

Responsibilities
  • Perform physical examinations in Well Child Clinics and Well Adult Physicals for work and school.
  • Perform examinations in STD Clinic, interpret results and prescribe appropriate medications for clients who present at SCDPH per CDC guidelines.  Consult with Infectious Disease (ID) Medical Consultant when questions arise or treatments that fall out of guidelines.
  • Manage PrEP patients, prescribe medications and complete necessary reporting for IDPH.
  • Acute care exams for minor concerns/complaints for clients seen for services in the health department.
  • Consultations for individuals traveling outside the United States who are in need of vaccines or medications to travel. 
  • Assists with special immunization clinics: i.e., influenza, COVID.
  • Perform mobile health outreach services in Sangamon and Menard counties.
  • Following TB Protocol/Procedures and Clinic Procedures.  (referrals for chest x-rays, appointments for assessments at SIU Infectious Disease Clinic or private doctor, completes TB clinic forms and notifies SCDPH CD nurse of referrals made).  Work with ID Medical Consultant for evaluation and treatment of Latent Tuberculosis Infection (LTBI) patients.  Orders labs, refills LTBI prescriptions and monthly follow-up until completion of therapy.
  • Attend appropriate meetings, workshops, conferences pertaining to clinic services; i.e., STD, school physicals, immunizations.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned within the scope of the enumerated duties.
Requirements
  • Appropriate licensure in good standing in the State of IL
  • A valid Class D Illinois Driver’s License
  • Applicants must be a resident of Sangamon County or be willing to move into the County within 6 months of employment. 
  • Ability to use personal automobile with proof of current insurance
  • In the event of public health emergencies, this position may be required to work evenings and/or weekend clinics as assigned.

Benefits

Work Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (3 days per week)
                     8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. (Monday)
                     8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. (1 day per week)
                      Monday - Friday

Salary Range:  $95,111- $118,889

     2 weeks paid vacation | 12 paid sick leave days   3 paid personal days   | 13 paid holidays per year
