CSBG Uniform Clothing Voucher Process and Protocol

Objective

As agency needs assessment surveys reflect, clothing remains in the top three of highest unmet community needs.  The school uniform program is designed to provide CSBG eligible families in Sangamon County with new school uniform clothing for their children, ages 5 years to 18 years and attend Springfield school full-time, to satisfy the need for uniform school clothing as well as to increase the self esteem and the self image of each child.

Process

200 clothing vouchers of $100.00 each will be available beginning with  Monday call in days for Tuesday appointments during the school year and summer as funding is available or all vouchers have been disseminated.  Verification of school attendance for each eligible child must be submitted with other documentation required at intake including:  photo ID for head of household, social security cards for all family members, family income for the previous 90 days and verification of school attendance for each student.

Vouchers may be redeemed at Luers only with a 20% discount for items purchased with uniform vouchers.  Vouchers must be used within 7 days of issuance. Uniform clothing may not be returned for cash but may be exchanged for correct size.  NO refunds allowed for voucher purchases.  Balances remaining on any voucher will be credited back to the agency.  No refunds, no cash back, no credit or gift cards will be issued in lieu of merchandise.

Benefit:  Each voucher, not to exceed four per family, will allow the recipient family to purchase up to $100.00 worth of clothing each, limited to student uniform clothing. Please call 535-3246 with questions.
