Annette Fulgenzi was appointed to the Sangamon County Board in July 2015. Serving as board member for District 17, she represents portions of Springfield, Sherman, Andrew and the unincorporated areas surrounding the Abraham Lincoln Capitol Airport.
District 17 is home to some of Sangamon County’s greatest assets including the Abraham Lincoln Capitol Airport, the Illinois State Fair Grounds, Lincoln Park Nelson Center, Oak Ridge Cemetery, Lincoln’s Tomb, World War II, Vietnam and Korean War Memorials, Camp Lincoln, the Illinois Military Museum and Historic Route 66. Annette believes it is our responsibility to be good stewards of these great community assets and these attributes are the key to ensuring our north end businesses and neighborhoods continue to thrive and not fall victim to urban decay and blight.
Ms. Fulgenzi has worked in economic development for the State of Illinois for over 20 years and currently manages the Illinois Small Business Environmental Assistance Program which assists companies in understanding and complying with often times complex and confusing environmental regulations. She is the past National Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the National Steering Committee of State Small Business Environmental Assistance Programs; an appointed member of the USEPA National Advisory Council for Environmental Policy and Technology-Compliance Assistance Advisory Committee and past member of the Illinois Development Council.
Ms. Fulgenzi has been married to her husband Jeff for 18 years and they are the proud parents of three children: Annie, Ellie and Devin. The Fulgenzi family has a long tradition of public service and believe you have to be willing to be a part of the solution to the problems facing your community if you want to bring about positive change.
Ms. Fulgenzi’s current committee assignments include: Courts, Finance, and Jail.
