Linda Douglas-Williams is a life-long resident of Springfield and Sangamon County Board District 20, having grown up in the area known as the John Hayes Homes, now commonly known as Madison Park Place.
Linda has been involved in the May’s Study Circles on Race Relations, the Coalition for Citizens with Disabilities, The American Association of Retired Persons, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts Pack #23, and church youth groups. She participated in Illinois Voices for Children and once served as a Commissioner, appointed to the Springfield Housing Authority Board of Commissioners in 2003. (5-year term)
Linda is also a member of the C. Lee Carey Neighborhood Association and serves as its Treasurer, Capitol Precinct #79 Democratic Precinct Committeewoman, a former member of One in a Million Inc., Eastside Pride, and is currently a member of Union Baptist Church.
Mrs. Douglas-Williams was a candidate for Ward 6 Alderman in 1995 and 1999. She retired from State of Illinois Secretary of State in 2002.
Linda was appointed to the County Board in July of 2007. She is serving or has served on the following committees;

- Employee Services Committee - Past Member
