Tony DelGiorno was first elected to the County Board in 2012 and has been representing District 23 since 2022. In 2024, Tony was elected as Democratic Caucus leader.
Tony is an attorney in private practice having opened his own law office in 2021 after 18 years with a firm. His practice is in elder law, estate planning, and rural development (water cooperatives) and non-profits. He served on the Illinois Department on Aging’s Long Term Care Council and the Illinois State Bar Association’s Elder Law Council, serving as its chairperson for the 2023-24 term.
In 2020, Tony helped co-found the local non-profit organization Moving Pillsbury Forward, NFP, serving as its Secretary/Treasurer and legal counsel. The organization is dedicated to the work of environmental remediation and demolition of the former Pillsbury Mills on Springfield’s northeast side, which has been abandoned for over 2 decades, and to the revitalization of the 18 acre site and surrounding neighborhood. As part of that work, Tony manages the nearly $10 million stack of federal, state, and local grant funding that has been assembled to bring this project to fruition.
Also, Tony was co-founder of the Ursuline Academy Alumni Foundation. He is a graduate of Little Flower School, Ursuline Academy, Illinois College, and American University’s Washington College of Law.
