I have lived in Riverton for 56 years. I am a 1985 graduate of Riverton High School. My wife (Mary Kay) and I have been married for 15 years, and have two daughters. Outside of my professional career, I have been devoted to serving my community in a multitude of elected and appointed positions. Beginning in 2001, I served as a village trustee in Riverton, Illinois until 2009. Then I was appointed in 2011 to the Fire District Board in Riverton and served as their treasurer until May of 2013. I was elected Mayor of Riverton in 2013 and resigned as mayor in January of 2024 to take the County Board District 8 position. Through the years, I have worked with our residents and the village board to move the village in a positive direction creating new opportunities for the village.
I have been a part of the Regional Leadership council since 2013, and served as the chairman and co-chair of this council for the past 5 years. I was selected to be part of the Bicentennial Committee for Sangamon County. I also served on the Sangamon County Comprehensive Plan of 2040, and chaired the Hazard Mitigation group for Sangamon County. In 2021 I was also asked to serve on the executive committee for the Interstate Municipal Gas Agency. I have enjoyed my time serving my community and look forward to serving the residents who live in District 8 of Sangamon County.
