Passport Registration Event Scheduled at VFW Post 755
The Sangamon County Circuit Clerk’s Office will host a passport registration event on Saturday, April 11 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at VFW Post 755, located at 2211 Old Jacksonville Road in Springfield.
Passport agents from the Circuit Clerk’s Office will be on site to process applications during the event. Standard passport fees will apply, and current processing times are available at travel.state.gov.
The event is intended to provide an additional opportunity for residents to apply for a passport outside of normal weekday business hours.
“VFW Post 755 is pleased to host this opportunity for our community. We are excited to work with the Sangamon County Circuit Clerk’s office to offer this service on Saturday,” said Josh Seed, commander of VFW Post 755.
“We are pleased to partner with local government, banks and merchants to provide community outreach events. Through these events, we hope to make the process of applying for a passport more convenient for everyone,” said Sangamon County Circuit Clerk Joe Roesch.
Applicants attending the event should bring a certified copy of their birth certificate, a valid photo ID, and an approved passport photo. On-site photo services will be available. Applicants may also need to provide certified copies of court documents for name changes, custody, or adoption. Payment must be made with two separate checks or money orders for applicable fees.
Residents who are unable to attend the event may apply for a passport in person at the Sangamon County Circuit Clerk’s Office, located at 200 South Ninth Street in Springfield, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., excluding weekends and court holidays.
