Sangamon County Board Hosts Opening Reception for New Springfield Art Association Exhibit

The Sangamon County Board hosted an opening reception this week for a new art exhibit now on display on the second floor of the Sangamon County Building in downtown Springfield.

The exhibit was developed in partnership with the Springfield Art Association and features work from the Springfield Art Association Collective, along with pieces by local painter and glass blower Jason LaBonte.

The Springfield Art Association Collective brings together work from local artists, providing a display of pieces representing the area’s arts community. LaBonte’s work adds to the exhibit through pieces reflecting his experience in both painting and glass art.

The exhibit is part of the rotating displays hosted at the Sangamon County Building throughout the year. Exhibits change quarterly, providing space for different local artists, organizations and collections to share their work with visitors to the building.

The exhibit is free and open to the public during regular business hours through at the Sangamon County Building, located at 200 S. 9th St. in Springfield.
