To set the course for land use and development across unincorporated Sangamon County for the next twenty years, Sangamon County has partnered with the Springfield-Sangamon County Regional Planning Commission to develop the 2047 Sangamon County Comprehensive Plan.
A steering comittee has been created to guide the comprehensive planning process. The committee meets monthly on the third Thursday. A copy of the latest agenda will be placed HERE when it is available. Sangamon County had previously started the comprehensive plan update process but was halted when the COVID pandemic halted in-person meetings. Now Sangamon County is ready to look into the future and provide a plan to guide growth and development in Sangamon County for the next 20 years.
