The Sangamon County Court Services Department is accepting applications for a full-time position for Detention Supervisor at the Sangamon County Juvenile Detention Center. Must have the ability to work all days and shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

Performs supervisory duties as well as intake services, custody services, and helping to plan, implement, and evaluate programming.

Requirements

Obtained a Master's Degree in management, public administration, criminal justice, or social services, and one or more years employed in juvenile detention/residential services or, a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university and two or more years employed in court services, criminal justice, or social services, of which one year must be in juvenile detention/residential services. Must be on the Administrative Office of Illinois Courts hiring eligibility list at the time of employment offer. Must be a U.S. Citizen and have a valid driver’s license. Must pass a criminal and DCFS background check as well as a drug screening.

Skills

Ability and desire to work with delinquent youth in a secure detention setting which may require physical restraint of minors; knowledge of the criminal justice system and ability to supervise staff.

Benefits

Annual Base salary of $67,712.00 health, dental, and life insurance; pension plan; deferred compensation option; paid vacation, sick and personal time.
