The Sangamon County Court Services Department is accepting applications, contingent upon committee approval, for a full-time position of Probation Supervisor.

Responsibilities

Under general direction, responsibilities include: administrative tasks, personnel tasks, caseworker management tasks, public relations tasks, program coordination and supervision tasks, policy and procedures development tasks, Interstate Compact tasks and other related tasks as required.

Requirements

Obtained a master’s degree in management, public administration, criminal justice or social services, and one or more years employed in court services, criminal justice or social services; or a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two or more years employed in court services, criminal justice or social services. Must be on the Administrative Office of Illinois Courts hiring eligibility list at the time of employment offer.  Must pass criminal history and DCFS background checks and provide a negative drug test. Possess a valid driver’s license.

Skills

Knowledge of the criminal justice system; ability to follow written and oral instructions; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, probationers/clients, judiciary stakeholders, victims, social service/community agencies, and others; competent in the use of various software programs including Word and WordPerfect; and be proficient in legal writing.    

Benefits

Annual starting base salary range of $76,643.00 to $95,800.00; health, dental, and life insurance; pension plan; deferred compensation option; paid vacation, sick, and personal time.
