The Building & Grounds Department is looking to hire a Facilities Maintenance Technician. 

Responsibilities

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine building maintenance and related tasks in seven different facilities, including a 24/7 detention facility. Performance of building maintenance tasks in the fields of (e.g. carpentry, minor electrical, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, HVAC, minor plumbing, etc) Performs general cleaning and other tasks as assigned. This is a full-time, nonexempt hourly position, reporting to the Facilities Manager. 

Distinguishing Features of Work: 
*various kinds of repair and maintenance work in large governmental facilities
*repair, maintain/monitor all equipment and amenities
*cleaning of various kinds; sometimes directs regular cleaning crew
*change of all filters and related items for HVAC as required
*On-call maintenance for all facilities, 24/7
*Maintain exterior property, including snow removal
*Moving equipment, office furniture, etc.
*Mowing and various kinds of yard maintenance
*Performs other work related duties as assigned
*Must be able to work flexible hours

Requirements

*High School education or equivalent
*5-10 years of working experience in facilities maintenance
*Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing and carpentry
*Ability to work with minimal supervision
*Ability to push/lift 75 poinds
*Ability to climb ladders
*Bending at waist, sitting, kneeling, climbing, walking, crouching as job may require
*Ability to work in extreme temperatures 
*Must be able to pass background check
*Must have a valid driver's license
*Working in high noise levels requiring hearing protection
*Working around lubricants, solvents, batteries, cleaning fluids, paints

Skills

*Must demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills; customer service oriented
*Must be organized, detail oriented, self-motivated, and able to multi-task
