SCDPH Announces 2023 "Gold Award" Recipients
The Sangamon County Department of Public Health (SCDPH) is pleased to announce the 2023 "Gold Award" recipients. This is the 26th year this award has been presented to Sangamon County food service establishments which have demonstrated superior commitment to food safety.
The Gold Award criteria are based on each establishment's 2023 calendar year inspection history. Starting in 2022, the criteria being used is slightly different due to Illinois State's adoption on of 2017 FDA Food Code.
The Gold Awards include all those Class I and Class II facilities that meet the following criteria:
-certified food protection manager compliant;
-identifying no more than two Priority or Priority Foundation violations for Class I facilities;
-identifying no more than one Priority or Priority Foundation violation for Class II facilities;
- identifying no more than three Core violations within a Class I or Class II facility;
- having the same ownership throughout the year;
-operational behaviors observed during at least one inspection; and
-having no violations that require a return visit.
First time award winners, are eligible for a 5% rebate on their annual food permit fee. Those that have received the award twice in a row are eligible for a 10% rebate on their annual food permit fee. Those that have received the award three or more times in a row are eligible for a 20% rebate on their annual food permit fee. The recipient list is below.
