Veterans Assistance Commission of Sangamon County to Relocate to Sangamon South Building

The Veterans Assistance Commission (VAC) of Sangamon County will relocate its office later this month to the Sangamon South Building, located at 300 S. 9th Street in Springfield (formerly the State Journal-Register building).

To accommodate the move, the VAC office will be closed to the public on May 22 and 23, 2025. Regular services will resume at the new location on Tuesday, May 27, following the Memorial Day holiday.

Through May 21, the VAC office will continue to operate under normal business hours at its current location, 901 S. 11th Street, Springfield.

At the new office, entry will be available through the north side of the Sangamon South building. Dedicated parking spaces for veterans will be provided in the north lot adjacent to the building.

Plans for a public open house are underway, and details will be shared once finalized.

For appointments or inquiries, veterans may contact the VAC office by phone at 217-753-6680, by email at veterans@sangamonil.gov, or by mail at 200 S. 9th Street, Springfield, Illinois 62701.

Beginning May 27, the VAC’s new location for in-person services will be on the first floor of 300 S. 9th Street, Springfield, Illinois 62701.

The Veterans Assistance Commission appreciates the community’s understanding during this transition and extends sincere thanks to all who have served or are currently serving in the United States military. The VAC looks forward to welcoming veterans to the new location following Memorial Day.
